There has been a major police action on the Baansingel in Alkmaar since the beginning of the evening. The street is partly cordoned off and there are numerous police officers and detectives present. There is also a police container and an animal ambulance.
The action is part of ‘an ongoing investigation’, a police spokesperson said. He does not want to say at this time what kind of research this involves.
People who live on the Baansingel are currently not allowed to leave their homes, a resident of NH said. Witnesses say a deceased person has been found. The police could not confirm this either.
Alkmaar Central reports that there may have been a shooting. More may be announced tomorrow.
