Major police action after reporting students with firearms in Uithoorn, school through the dust

Students of the Alkwin Kollege in Uithoorn unintentionally scared the hell out of local residents yesterday afternoon. Local residents of the secondary school on the Weegbree saw the students at the school building with a firearm and raised the alarm, after which the police immediately came to the school building with all their might.

The police came to the school with four cars, and the police helicopter was also sent to Uithoorn as a precaution. It soon turned out to be students from the Alkwin Kollege. According to bystanders, officers who rushed to arrest four young people, but the police cannot confirm that.

Exciting film

The school confirmed the incident last night on Facebook. It concerned students from the fourth grade, who were busy shooting an ‘exciting film’ as an assignment for the course Cultural Artistic Education. Ultimately, that assignment led to ‘a major incident with students’, according to the school board.

“We deeply regret that an assignment for a school subject has led to a police incident and local residents are very shocked,” the school writes. “We apologize to anyone who was frightened or inconvenienced by this.”

The police seized the (fake) weapon. The management says it will take appropriate measures to ‘prevent this in the future’.
