Nine people have been arrested so far in the large-scale drug action in several places throughout Brabant. The police made the announcement via Twitter. The investigation is now temporarily suspended because it is getting too dark. The searches at various locations will continue on Tuesday morning.
In addition to the arrests, a lot of illegal and suspicious items were also found. “For example, drugs, including crystal meth. But also firearms, ammunition, various luxury goods, cars and large amounts of cash,” the East Brabant Police Unit writes on Twitter.
Thousand agents
The big action started early on Monday morning. Agents have raided at least three caravan camps in Eindhoven. The same happened in dozens of other places in the province, including houses and a garage. At least 1,000 people are involved in the research.
The investigation focuses on the large-scale production and trafficking of synthetic drugs and the laundering of criminal money. The police are working together with the Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service (FIOD), the Tax and Customs Administration, Defense and other specialists in the campaign. Detection dogs are also used.
