A tanker, foam fire extinguishing vehicle, water tankers and a fire truck for fighting wildfires. The fire brigade responded en masse this evening to an incident involving a gas tank on the grounds of GETEC Park in Emmen. However, it turned out to be an exercise.
In addition to the fire brigade, several ambulances and police cars were also deployed, as well as the industrial estate’s own fire brigade. When they arrived there were countless ‘victims’ with terrible injuries. Lotus victims, actors who pretended to be injured.
“We organized this exercise together with GETEC,” says a spokesperson for the Drenthe Safety Region. “The aim was for different authorities to work together. In addition to the fire brigade, police and ambulance personnel, the municipality of Emmen was also involved. In total, about a hundred people participated in the exercise.”
