A large fire broke out on Saturday afternoon in a villa at the Brahmspark in Drunen. It is a house with a thatched roof. A twelve-year-old boy was alone at home when the fire broke out, he was able to get out in time.
The smoke came from under the entire roof, flames were mainly seen in the chimney. A special fire brigade team that specializes in extinguishing fires in thatched roofs has come over from Elst to help fight the fire.
The report of the fire came in around ten past four, a short time later a large fire was reported.
Part of the reed is removed by the fire brigade. The ridge ridges, which ensure the closure of the roof, are also removed in order to extinguish the fire.
Local residents provided drinking water for the firefighters while extinguishing the fire.
