How to improve my self-esteem?

Working on self-esteem is a fundamental process to cultivate a positive and healthy self-image.

We grew up in a society where self-esteem doesn’t seem to matter. But what is this for?

It helps us to recognize and value our own capabilitiesqualities and achievements, as well as accepting our imperfections and limitations in a compassionate manner. It is important to take the time to reflect on who we are, what our values are, and what goals or purposes we want to achieve in life.

How can I recognize my self-esteem?
In principle, “accepting my abilities”, for example: making a list of my achievements, both “big” and “small”, and analyzing what skills allowed me to reach the goal. Besides, accept our mistakes It is part of our own growth, instead of punishing ourselves, we must learn from those mistakes to continue growing. Avoid comparing ourselves It also helps us navigate our process. Another fundamental point is learn to set limits healthy when necessary, both in interpersonal relationships, work, family, children, etc. Saying “NO” is sometimes necessary.

Finally, practicing self-compassion and treating ourselves with kindness is essential to help us increase our self-esteem and not always wait for the approval of others.

This process of personal development can be achieved as long as we accept our weaknesses, whether by talking about it with a friend, someone we trust, or in a counseling process, in order to begin working on the aspects that you need to strengthen.

It’s one day at a time, you already have control of your life. You just have to know when to put it first.
