Maisie Peters: “The Good Witch” (Review & Stream)

When Maisie Peters became something of a social media phenomenon in 2013-2017, the assets were clear: The songwriter can tell stories like Taylor Swift. The charm of the Brit promoted by Ed Sheeran is different from Swift’s given her age – Peters is 22. But there is still magic in these cleverly observed relationship box songs.

Maisie Peters will stay

Listening to Peters’ second album, The Good Witch, you sometimes feel romantic, sometimes you have to laugh at the pointed self-mockery. The songwriting is well-crafted, the production is modern pop at its best. That seems unnecessarily pumped up, but it belongs in this music world. Maisie Peters will stay.
