Europa-comeback after almost nine years: For Mainz 05, the first leg of the qualification for the Conference League at Rosenborg Trondheim is the return to the European stage since the last participation in the 2016/17 season and only the fifth participation in the club in the club’s history. Thanks to a strong sixth place in the past Bundesliga season, the Mainz had qualified for the playoffs of the Conference League.

Before the game – The FSV Mainz 05 team bus was damaged before the first leg in the play-offs for the Conference League on Thursday (6 p.m.). On Thursday afternoon, the club posted a picture of the vehicle on platform X, which shows a missing wheel on the right front. “Unfortunately, we have to confirm that three of the tires of our team bus have been severely damaged by vandalism,” the Rheinhessen wrote.

The posting also said: “We try everything to get the bus fit again until tonight.” A little later the Bundesliga club gave the all -clear. “The bus is doing great again,” the club wrote, the vehicle was ready for use for the evening.
