Mainz lends fog to Karlsruhe

Bundesliga soccer club FSV Mainz 05 has loaned attacking player Paul Nebel to second division club Karlsruher SC.

As the Rheinhessen announced on Monday, the 19-year-old should “get more match practice at a high level” with the Badeners in the coming season.

A purchase option is therefore not part of the agreement. “The examples of Stefan Bell and Robin Zentner show that a loan can be good for gaining important experience and then being able to attack even better at Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga,” said sporting director Christian Heidel.

Nebel only played in ten league games under coach Bo Svensson last season, often coming on as a substitute in the closing stages.
