Club boss Stefan Hofmann from the Bundesliga soccer club FSV Mainz 05 will be promoted to “full-time club and board chairman” from May 1st.
According to the club, the supervisory board has unanimously agreed to “extend the agreement previously concluded on the basis of a side job” with the 58-year-old.
Hofmann has held the office of club boss since January 2018. The current agreement regarding his full-time employment is limited to the current election period. The new elections for the chairmanship of the association are scheduled for autumn 2024. Hofmann, who previously worked as a department head in the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Education, will be on leave for the duration of the election period.
“I want to do my part to set the course for a successful future for our association with the right measures and priorities in our work,” said Hofmann: “Of course, this is much more possible in an operational management function than in a part-time job.”
