Mainz 05 is wearing Jako jerseys for the first time

Premiere for the soccer players of 1. FSV Mainz 05: At the weekend, the women’s and men’s teams were on the field for the first time in outfits from the German sporting goods supplier Jako at the start of preparations for the coming season. The club announced the change of outfitter on July 1 a few weeks ago. Last season, the people of Mainz were still dressed by the Kappa brand.

Tobias Röschl, Director of Sales & Marketing at Jako, acknowledged the start of the collaboration: “It’s finally here! We are looking forward to actively starting the partnership with 1. FSV Mainz 05 after a long preparatory phase,” he said in a statement. “We already have a lot in common – we share common values and are both strongly committed to the topic of sustainability. We want to develop these and other similarities over the next few years and activate many topics and projects.”

As part of the partnership with the traditional club, which is initially set to last five years, Jako is now equipping all teams in the club, from the professionals to the junior teams, with match and training clothing as well as team wear. The home jerseys of the Mainz 05 men’s team for the upcoming Bundesliga season will celebrate their premiere next Friday, according to the sports goods retailer. “The playing clothes will be worn on the same evening as part of a club partner test match against SG Gensingen/Grolsheim,” explained Jako.
