Maintenance and use of the steel pan – see the instructions

The choice of more and more people for the home kitchen is a steel pan. Steel pans last forever if they are properly maintained.

The uncoated steel pan can withstand hard use and hot temperatures, so it’s the perfect choice for home cooks who don’t want to constantly replace their frying pan. However, the steel pan, like other frying pans, must be taken care of.

The uncoated steel pan can withstand the dishwasher, but it is more recommended to wash it by hand using a dish brush. Wash the steel pan with hot water and detergent immediately after use, as long as the pan has cooled down first.

Use plenty of fat when frying, but add butter or oil to the pan only when the pan is hot.

Eggs in particular stick easily to the steel pan. This can be prevented by using enough frying fat. The fat should also be drizzled on the pan with a generous hand when frying white fish or tofu, because they also easily stick to the surface of the steel pan.

If the food has already stuck to the pan, there is an easy trick to remove it, for which you only need water and baking soda:

1. Fill the pan with water and add half a teaspoon of baking soda.

2. Put the pan on the stove for a while to warm up. Baking soda easily removes burnt food on the bottom.

3. Finally, wash the pan normally with a dish brush and detergent.

You can also use a wire brush or a cleaning stone to remove burnt-on food.
