Düsseldorf (dpa) – The former Bundesliga player Maik Franz is the new vice president of the VDV, the players’ union said.
The 40-year-old was elected by the VDV Executive Committee as second vice president alongside former national player Carsten Ramelow. The former Bochum Bundesliga player Florian Gothe has been President since 1999.
“I myself joined the VDV as a young player and I know how important cohesion and solidarity are, especially in difficult times. I’m really looking forward to my new job and will accept every duel here, too,” said Franz.
