This year the Maifeld Derby will take place in Mannheim for the 13th time from May 31st to June 2nd. The Open Air, named “Best Small Festival” in 2023, has now announced further acts for 2024. You can find all the information here.

At Christmas, the organizers made the first batch of artists public. They started building anticipation with artists like Edwin Rosen, Chelsea Wolfe, English Teacher, Mannequin Pussy and Fat Dog. If you missed the first announcement, you can read all the acts again here:
Holidays are probably well received at the independent festival, which is why they are releasing the second wave of bands on Valentine’s Day, February 14th. This means they increase the number of confirmed bands from 23 to 42 out of a total of 72. So they still have a few more up their sleeves.

Tickets and innovations
Anyone who is convinced by the artists and wants to be there will find it here Tickets to the festival. The 3-day ticket currently costs 160 euros in the second price level. However, the Maifeld Derby is offering reduced tickets for young people for the first time this year – these are reduced by 25 euros per category. Regarding this offer they write: “Despite rising production, personnel and salary costs, this step is very important to us. No herd can survive in the long term without raising foals.” Day tickets are not currently available, but are expected in the near future.
Another innovation in 2024 will be the stage structure. In addition to the previous stadiums “Palastzelt”, “Open Air large” and “Parcours d’amour”, there will also be the “Open Air small”, which partially replaces the hut tent for subcultural artists, as well as a completely new playing area will be announced soon.
