Private insight with chess star Magnus Carlsen: his wife proudly shows her baby bump – and inspires the fans.
Chess superstar Magnus Carlsen becomes father. As the Norwegian himself announced on Instagram, his wife Ella Victoria is pregnant. Carlsen posted a picture of her on his profile on Monday evening. It wears a white, tight -fitting top and a long white skirt under which her clearly visible baby bump looks out.
The Norwegian chess world champion commented on the article with the words: “My Beautiful Pregnant Wife” (in German: “My beautiful pregnant wife”). This gave Carlsen a rare insight into his private life, which he otherwise largely keeps out of the public.
The 34-year-old and his woman, who was eight years younger, showed himself in public for the first time almost a year and a half ago, married early this year.
The reactions under the post are enthusiastic – among other things, congratulated chess streamer Andrea Botez. When the child comes and whether it will be a boy or a girl, the expectant parents did not announce.
Magnus Carlsen was chess world champion from 2013 to 2023. Then he gave the title, obviously the classic variant had become too bland. In the meantime, he mostly plays online or lightning variants. In the chess Bundesliga, he competed twice for FC St. Pauli in the past season.
