Magisterial Visser simply to semi-final 100 meters hurdles

At the first race at the World Championships in Eugene, Nadine Visser once again showed her class. The athlete from Hoorn was simply second (12.76 seconds) ahead of number three, Andrea Vargas (13.12 seconds). The top three in the series qualified for the semi-finals.

It didn’t matter much if Visser had improved her best time of the season (12.72). The Polish Pia Skrzyszowska was just faster than Visser (12.70). The time of the North Hollandse was the tenth time in the general classification.

Zoë Sedney, the other Dutch participant in the series, did not qualify for the semi-final. She crossed the line after 13.38 seconds and that gave her sixth place. Earlier she had already run a bad race with the relay team 4×100 meters.

The semi-final and possible final of Visser will be run on Monday night.
