Madrid and Olympiacos in the final

Real Madrid and Olympiacos have reached the final of the EuroLeague Final Four. In Kaunas, Lithuania, the royal basketball team beat FC Barcelona 78:66 (36:42) in a duel between their arch-rivals from Spain. The Greek champions Olympiakos knocked out AS Monaco with a 76:62 (29:41). The final of the premier class will take place on Sunday (7 p.m. / MagentaSport).

Spain’s champions Real pulled away decisively in the final quarter (20:11) and had their best thrower in Walter Tavares (20 points). The German national player Oscar da Silva was not in the FC Barcelona squad, Alex Abrines scored 16 points as the Catalans’ top scorer.

Monaco with Sasa Obradovic, former professional and coach of Alba Berlin, fell on the losing side after a disastrous third quarter. The French Cup winners only managed one basket, Olympiakos won the game 27:2.

Anadolu Istanbul, winners of the past two years, missed the play-offs. The two German representatives Alba Berlin and Bayern Munich did not make it into the quarter-finals either.
