During a concert, the singer talked about a special encounter when she woke up.
Madonna has spoken about recovering from a bacterial infection last year. Among other things, the singer shared the first word she spoke after a coma as a result of the illness.
Encounter with God to wake up
She recalled her health problems during a concert in Los Angeles in June 2023. “I didn’t know it for four days because I was in a medically induced coma, but when I woke up, my first word was ‘No,'” Madonna said . She referred to stories from her assistant.
“I’m very sure God said to me, ‘Do you want to come with us? Do you want to come with me? Do you want to go in that direction?’ And I said, ‘No, no.'” The singer went on to talk about the experience as a whole. “I literally couldn’t walk from bed to toilet by myself,” she said. “I didn’t know when I would be able to get up and be myself again. It was a strange feeling, not having any control. That was my lesson, to let it go.”

Madonna’s doctor recommended vitamin D
Her relatives had “prepared for the worst,” Madonna said of her illness. She further described her stay in the intensive care unit in June 2023 as a “near-death experience,” a “surprising” and “scary” experience. However, she could thank “a very special man” in the audience: her doctor David Agus.
“I kept calling him and asking why I had no energy, when my strength would come back, when I would feel like myself again, when I could go on tour again,” Madonna said. “And all he said was, ‘Go out in the sun, you need vitamin D, then your kidneys will continue to function.'”
The singer has now fully recovered. Although she had to postpone the first dates of her “The Celebration Tour” in the USA, Madonna was able to play the concerts in Europe. Their performances in the USA are taking place these days. The singer played the first of five shows at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Monday, and the tour will end after three dates in the city on April 9th at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
