The DJ duo Carte Blanq from Veldhoven has reached a special milestone with their song ’33 Max Verstappen ‘. The song about the Formula 1 driver is more than one billion streamed on Tiktok. Dominic Graat and his wife Inge Manders, Dominic Graat, had not thought that was possible four years ago.
“It’s really bizarre,” says Dominic, the brother of our own Jordy Graat. “The song is all over the world and when he became champion last season, his crew turned it through the speakers.”
The song, called 33 Max Verstappen, is based on an existing melody of a band from the 80s. “I always played that song in the stands at Formula 1 matches,” says Dominic from Circuit Zandvoort. “I always sang the lyrics myself. Then we thought in 2021 to make it a song. That was easier than singing constantly over the original song.”

And said, so done. The DJ duo Carte Blanq, as Dominic and his wife call themselves, called in the help of Brabant producer Nils Van Zandt to make the song. Singer Jeroen Nap then sung the iconic but simple text in fifteen minutes. “He only had time for a moment, then he had to leave,” Dominic remembers. “But it was exactly enough.”
And now, four years later it is a hit with one billion views on Tiktok and 70 million streams on Spotify. “It is turned completely gray,” notes the DJ. And not only in the Netherlands by the way. The song is popular all over the world. “I saw a pop group from South Korea singing the song on social media. Every time Max appears on stage, he hears his number and Dominic took care of that. “He doesn’t get away from it anymore. I heard from someone that he was running through Monaco and that people sing it to him. So he is probably a bit tired of the song.”
