Last September, a player and Vice-Captain of the British football club Sheffield United Maddy Cusack, 27, was found dead in his home. The cause of death has not been disclosed, but the police do not believe it was a crime.
More information has been received about the incident that shocked the football world. Cusack’s mother Deborah released a statement on social media, in which it is said that Cusack was mentally broken from football before his death.
The mother describes that her daughter was at her happiest last Christmas, but after February the situation started to change. In her text, the mother describes that Cusack lost his cheerfulness and carefreeness.

Cusack joined Shelffield United in 2019 and played football in England’s second-highest division. Besides that, he worked in the marketing department of Sheffield United. He played more than a hundred matches in the team and, according to his mother, fell in love with the club community.
Now Cusack’s loved ones are demanding more answers about their daughter’s fate, and they are The Daily Mail have asked Sheffield United for an external investigator to investigate the circumstances leading to the player’s death.
The football club agreed to the family’s request. The investigation began in October.
