Mad patient takes female doctor hostage in Waregem

What happened?
The doctor was there on a home visit yesterday. The patient asked for certain medication, but the GP would not give it. In response, the woman began to cut herself with a knife and also turned against the doctor.
Also beaten with a stick
“The female doctor was locked up and held hostage for more than one hour,” said the spokesman for the prosecutor’s office. “She tried to escape through the window and was injured. The doctor was also beaten with a stick.” In the end it was the doctor who was able to inform the police by telephone.
The police arrived on the scene, broke into the house and were able to free the doctor. The mad patient was then able to hide in the house for a while, says the prosecutor’s office.
The Special Assistance Team also came to the scene and was eventually able to arrest the woman. She will be brought before the investigating judge.
