According to Maarten van Rossem, it is of a sad level how some show media in our country operate. He often has the idea that things are blown up in a horrific way, especially on the internet. Yet RTL Boulevard can also do something about it, according to the jury member of De Slimste Mens.
“BLVD horrible!”
Maarten states that it is by no means only the online show media that reports so riotously. “To a lesser extent, you can also say that about… What’s the name of that program? It is a well-watched program. Promenade? No. No, not Promenade. No, not Shownieuws either, which suffers from the same ailment. No, no, what’s that called?”
The NPO star cannot come up with the program title. “Where they are always behind such a desk”, he muses in his podcast Martin The Podcast. Then suddenly: “Boulevard! Sorry I couldn’t come up with it. That’s Freudian. Yes, a horrible program indeed.”
Often a guest
Tom Jessen, the presenter of the podcast, is surprised that Maarten hates Luuk Ikink’s show section so much. “While you are a guest there very often. Then they call you again.”
Maarten: “No, I’ve never been there… I’ve been a guest there, but I always try to keep it off.”
Tim: “But when De Slimste starts again, they call you again: ‘Hey Maarten, how did you like it? Good candidates?’”
Useless
That’s right, says Maarten, but he also thinks that is an exaggeration of Boulevard. “Yes, it’s that yearly useless excitement about De Slimste. Yes, it’s a well-watched program, it’s a quiz, it’s a fun quiz. No one actually understands why it is so popular. That is really all there is to say about it.”
Finally: Maarten himself is not averse to a riot at all, is he? He comes up with all kinds of unsalted opinions at every turn. Riots? I don’t do that at all. Other people cause riots because I said something sensible.”
