More than ten years ago Maarten Martens fully lived up to his nickname. The Belgian stylist gave Theo Janssen a great panna during AZ – Ajax. The AZ stadium sprung up and saw the class of the technically gifted attacker. “That proves again that football is entertainment.”
“I came up with that as a thirteen-year-old boy in the garden,” says Maarten Martens about the conscious action. “A typical Maarten Martens action indeed.”

The victim Theo Janssen was completely exposed by Martens, but according to the current Jong AZ trainer, there is no question of anger or resentment. “You can see in the images that Janssen visits me and gives me a low five gives.
