Maaret Kallio was injured in the TTK broadcast seen on television on Sunday.

Maaret Kallion Sunday’s TTK dance came to an unfortunate end when he hurt his hamstring in front of the TV cameras. After the incident, he sat on the steps of the dance stage during the last commercial break.

Iltalehti reached Kallio by phone on Monday, and he said that his suspicions were right. The doctor found a tear in his hind thigh.

– And now we are slowly improving it, says Kallio.

Kallio says that he has received many messages regarding what happened. Many have been worried about his well-being.

– I have also received an awful lot of inquiries regarding the matter, he states.

On the way home

The timing of the injury was ideal in terms of further training, as Kallio and Helenius had to leave the program. The star pair collected 31 points during the evening.

Kallio said immediately after the news of the elimination that he was not upset that Taival in the program ended.

– I am extremely grateful, he said on live TV.

Kallio said that he had two goals for the program, both of which were realized during the past fall.

– I had one goal, that I dare to go with this, because it was the biggest thing. The second was that I get to dance for my grandmother. I clearly went over them, he stated, moved.

Recovery

On Monday, Kallio said that he is still in a good mood, even though dance training is no longer in sight.

– I was left with a really good feeling, and not feeling bored in any way. It was wonderful dances and wonderful teachers, says Kallio.

– Now I have time to improve this leg as well.

Kallio admits that the past autumn has been very busy balancing dances, work and family life.

– After all, this has been quite a tight squeeze with work and family. Now, when those 30 hours a week are moving back, that’s also a good thing, Kallio says with joy in his voice.
