The French attacker was in fact on a training camp with the team of trainer Peter Bosz. During a game of paintball in the Dutch forest, however, Lacazette is said to have been attacked by wasps, writes L’Equipe. He is said to have received “a dozen wasp stings” in his face.
Teammate Moussa Dembélé was also frequently stabbed. However, he was back on the training field on Thursday, unlike his teammate. Lacazette was taken back by Bosz on a free transfer this summer. He played for Arsenal for years, but the Dutch coach managed to persuade him to return to the old nest.
The traditional opening match in the Kuip is on Sunday at 4.45 pm.
