French luxury goods group Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) has announced a change in leadership at its cosmetics chain Sephora. In a post on the LinkedIn social network on Thursday, the group announced that Guillaume Motte had been appointed President and CEO of Sephora. According to press reports, he will take up his new position on January 1 of next year.
Motte is changing within the group: Most recently, he had been deputy CEO of the LVMH Fashion Group division since May 2021, before that he managed Sephora’s business in Europe and the Middle East. He takes over the helm of the cosmetics chain from Chris de Lapuente, who is also president and CEO of LVMH’s retail division, which also owns Sephora. De Lapuente also took over the management of the perfumery chain after Martin Brok resigned as CEO of Sephora in the summer.
“I am delighted to welcome Guillaume back to Sephora as President and CEO,” de Lapuente said in a statement on LinkedIn. “The experience of the past two years at LVMH Fashion Group alongside Sidney Toledano has further enhanced his expertise in building luxury brands and deepened his already extensive retail and business skills on a global scale.”
