Luxury hotel La Réserve in Knokke-Heist finally opens its doors
In 2021, Scorpiaux Holding from real estate man Bart Versluys and Alychlo from Marc Coucke bought the hotel. In the meantime, they have jointly invested around 7 million euros to turn the four-star hotel into a five-star hotel. The operational management of the hotel remains in the hands of Eddy Walravens, who sold the hotel at the time.
Completely renewed in 6 months
The new design pays tribute to the acclaimed hotel’s heritage, while still exuding 21st-century style. The publicly accessible interiors have been reinvented by Glenn Sestig Architects with an eye for subtle luxury that combines high-quality materials with a minimalist approach. Bart Versluys and his teams managed the entire coordination and renovation in barely 6 months.
The lobby, bar, restaurant, boutique, multi-purpose room and 111 rooms and suites have been completely renovated. The spa and wellness area is still under construction. It is their ambition to once again make “La Réserve” the ultimate calling card for Knokke and the Belgian coast in general.
Rich history with world famous guests
The hotel has been a fixture in the coastal city since 1949. La Réserve has already attracted many well-known people, such as Hollywood stars, politicians, royal guests, leading designers and intellectuals. René Magritte, Frank Sinatra, Marlène Dietrich, Brigitte Bardot, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, Keith Haring, David Beckham, Paris Hilton and many others saw the hotel as a base for relaxation and luxury. Jean-Claude Van Damme, a regular hotel guest, was also recently present at one of the dry runs in the restaurant La Rigue.
The hotel reopened in 2011 after the former building was demolished. This will happen again next Monday, but with an extra star in your pocket.
