Luuk Ikink puts Monique Westenberg in her place. The RTL Boulevard presenter finds her complaining about media attention a bit annoying. “So don’t do a cover shoot like that.”
It disturbs Luuk Ikink immensely when fellow celebrities complain in interviews about celebrity, media attention and how difficult they find it all. Monique Westenberg, the flashing fiancé of André Hazes jr., is also guilty of this. She was recently reprimanded by Yvonne Coldeweijer, who stated that Monique texted her frequently.
Tired of Monique
Luuk is getting a little tired of Monique. “Monique Westenberg says that she really does not want to be in the media. She would rather not do that, she says in LINDA.loves and Beau Monde, among others. haha. She is great at that,” he says The BLVD Podcast.
Colleague Rob Goossens: “She was also very modest in the Hazes documentary. It is very clear that she prefers not to appear in the media.”
Luuk: “That is indeed remarkable.”
Cover shoot
It’s hypocritical, says Luuk. “That’s what I always find with all celebrities who say: ‘I’d rather not be known’, ‘I’d rather not be in the media’, ‘I don’t really care that much about this’. Yes, that may well be true, but you can’t say that while you’re in a magazine with a cover shoot. That contrast is too great.”
He continues: “Then you just have to say: ‘I had to get over this. I can enjoy it now, I do it and it’s part of my job.’ Because it’s your job. If you then say all the time that you would rather not… ‘I’d rather sit at home in my pajamas on the couch.’ Well, then do that! Then you should not go to that photo shoot.”
“She takes everything!”
Rob also finds Monique not credible. “Agree. And then I actually want to hear from her which twenty major cover shoots she canceled last year because she didn’t really want it.
He concludes: “I would be surprised if she canceled one at all and if you do everything you can get, then of course you can’t say you’re reluctant to do it.”
