Luuk Ikink argues for a long Rachel Hazes break: ‘About ten years’

Luuk Ikink thinks that Rachel Hazes would do well not to show herself again for about ten years. “No Holland Zingt Hazes, reality series and selling stuff for a while.”

It irritates Luuk Ikink that Rachel Hazes is trying very diligently to sell a real-life soap about her new life in Spain to SBS 6. “Well, there she was again. It took a few weeks that she was not in the news, but suddenly there was a camera on the sniffer again,” he sneers in The BLVD Podcast.

No tension element

According to Luuk, it promises to be very boring and irrelevant. “Now I wonder about Rachel Hazes in Spain… There isn’t a major element of tension that I can think of right now, except her restaurant. But yeah, that’s not exciting enough. Her children don’t participate in that, she doesn’t have a new love or anything.”

Luuk thinks that people are really not looking forward to this at all. “But you saw, for example, on our Facebook page, an article was written about this news, and then you read an awful lot of reactions from people who really thought: it’s over with Hazes on television for a while.”

Ten years of Rachel break

Rachel says that she is all about safeguarding André Hazes’ musical legacy, but what do a brasserie and bath slippers at Lidl have to do with that? “I actually believe that she finds that important, but I think that will happen if you give it a rest for a few years, perhaps,” says Luuk.

Luuk thinks it should be over with that woman for a while. “Maybe no Holland Zingt Hazes for a while and no reality series and no things we can buy. Just do nothing for a year or maybe ten and then reintroduce it to a new audience and so on.”

Let go a little

Luuk thinks there is a Rachel overload. “Because we have had so many André Hazes around us in recent years. To be honest, I’m a bit tired of it myself and I think that’s sad for the children.”

Colleague Rob Goossens: “I would like her to be able to let go a bit. It is her deceased husband, so she has to know it herself, but I think it would be better for her if she could let it go and just sit on a mountain without feeling the need to put an André Hazes statue there and a to bring a camera crew.”
