Luuk Ikink receives a reprimand from Dennis Jansen, media journalist for the AD. He thinks that the RTL Boulevard presenter is out too much on sensation. “He’s rubbing his hands in front of the tube!”
It rarely happens that RTL colleagues express strong criticism of each other in public, but Luuk Ikink did, namely with his broadcaster Renze Klamer. Renze’s talk show is hardly surprising, but his interview with Igone de Jongh was the last straw for the Boulevard host to give his critical opinion.
‘Luke very show’
Renze announced that he would also ask Igone about the difficult time behind her, pointing to her relationship with the controversial Thijs Römer, but in the end only asked one question. She then managed to fob him off very easily, says Luuk. Renze himself thinks it’s good that he didn’t ask further questions.
Media journalist Dennis Jansen is disturbed by Luuk’s criticism. He says in the AD Media podcast: “Luuk Ikink is very bad show become now, huh? He then sits rubbing his hands in front of the television that Igone de Jongh is going to tell about her private life. Don’t know. Are you waiting for that, you know? She has done nothing.”
Renze’s promise
Angela de Jong understands Luuk’s criticism. “No, [zij heeft niets gedaan,] but it has to do with the fact that it was promised to you as a viewer.”
Dennis: “I agree with you. So you shouldn’t do that.”
Angela: “You just shouldn’t do that. Then I would have zapped away from Igone, because I wasn’t that curious about that dance gala. If you like it then teasethen I also think you have to live up to it, and that just didn’t happen.”
Pleasantly surprised
Manuel Venderbos, presenter of Shownieuws and the AD media podcast: “Do you find it telling that Luuk, who is also from RTL, attacks Renze?”
Angela: “Well, I was watching and then I heard: ‘Can Renze still be saved?’ Then I thought, oh, will that be my column? And: I will go back to gas there, because the RTL stars want to protect them as much as possible and then it’s up to me again. So I was pleasantly surprised that Luuk also thought that it was really starting to become a problem now.”
Hand rubbing
Dennis: “Well, and I actually found myself thinking again: he is watching that interview in front of the television, rubbing his hands. I actually thought that was a bit crazy. Just say that you want to.”
Angela: “Well, we don’t know much about that case yet and he is a renowned actor and there are quite a few allegations out there and she chose to leave him in the middle of that storm.”
Dennis: “That seems rather private to me. That is none of our business. She doesn’t have to answer for what he did.”
Angela: “She doesn’t have to say anything about it either, but if she sits down as a public person, she knows there are questions about it.”
