Luuk de Jong returns to PSV, which wants to make a move this weekend

Good news from Eindhoven, more and more injured players are returning to the selection. Luuk de Jong is training with the group again and can take action again on Sunday. That day, PSV hopes to be able to narrow the gap to the top and still have a chance to win the title.

Sunday is largely devoted to the classic. Number one and two of the competition, Feyenoord and Ajax meet. It is not surprising that during the press moment in the run-up to Vitesse-PSV, the proverb ‘two dogs fight over a bone and a third goes with it’ was used.

But then PSV must first win against Vitesse. “We focus on that first. The five games won in a row give us confidence and we also want to continue that series”, says Ruud van Nistelrooij.

“If we don’t win ourselves, it doesn’t matter what happens on the other fields”

It was not clear whether the bus will look at Ajax – Feyenoord. But of course the players get that. “You have to deal with that once. But if we don’t win ourselves, it doesn’t matter what happens on the other fields.”

In Arnhem, Van Nistelrooij can again rely on Luuk de Jong. The striker missed a number of matches, but will participate in group training again from Friday. The away match against Vitesse is still too early for Thorgan Hazard and Savio.

“Luuk resumes group training today.”

“They will participate in an exhibition match that is scheduled for next week,” said the coach. “Luuk resumes group training today. I assume he will be there on Sunday.”

For Mauro Júnior, the question is whether he will still be in action this season. The Brazilian has had surgery in his home country. “Then you know that it is not about days, but weeks. It is not yet excluded that he will still be in action this season, but that remains to be seen.”
