Although the lunar eclipse is barely visible in our country tonight due to the clouds, it is best visible in Drenthe, Friesland and Groningen.
Between 8 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. the moon moves exactly through the Earth’s shadow, making it look like a bite is being taken out of the moon. Due to the rain that will pass over the country tonight, there is little chance that anything of the eclipse will be visible in the west and south of the country.
In Drenthe, Friesland and Groningen it is possible to partly follow the lunar eclipse. The lunar eclipse is at its peak around 10:15 p.m., when the ‘bite’ from the moon is greatest. But there is also a small chance that this will be visible in the north of the country.
