Lukko lost his opening match of the season in Jyväskylä 2–5, but now he paid off his fishing debts with interest in Rauma with 5–1 goals.
In the league table, Lukko rose to fifth and JYP fell to 11th place.
JYP took the opening set Robert Rooban with a man-of-the-match goal, but the longer the game progressed, the stronger Lukko grabbed the pace stick.
Captain Anrei Hakulinen scored 2+2 for the first four goals of the team and at the same time rose to the top of the Liiga stock market with 4+5=9 points in six games.
At the end of the second set, Hakulinen leveled the game with an understrength and immediately followed with a powerful foreplay Julius Mattila to the lead goal.
In the third set, Hakulinen continued to discipline JYP by passing Sebastian Revo a superior hit and finishing with a beautiful control the fourth goal of the hosts.
Harri Kainulainen seal with a sharp wristband as final numbers 5–1.
Frostbite
– It was a special match. Half the game was sat in the box, in an interview with C More, Hakulinen referred to Luko’s nine ices after JYP survived with three.
– A lot of pointless jokes and a lot of completely incomprehensible things that you can whistle about. Then there won’t be any in the other direction. I don’t want to bark at the judges, but the line was a bit confusing today.
Luka has been whistled for the most two-minute penalties, 31 in total.
– Our amount of ice in these preliminaries has been unimaginably large. We have to keep it to a minimum if we want to win away from home, Hakulinen already set his sights on Luko’s weekend games in Kouvola and Lappeenranta.
He comments moderately on his own success.
– Nights like this come from time to time. There aren’t a lot of places, but then everything goes. Today was such a night, and yes, that will be accepted.
