Lukko won the opening set 2–0 Brayden Burke and Sebastian Revo with hits.
After that, HC Innsbruck stepped into the spotlight Brady Shaw. The experienced Canadian striker shot past the Lukko keeper to narrow the home team’s lead by Daniel Lebedeff behind 15 seconds before the second break and tied the game with just under six minutes left in the final period.
The second leg of the quarterfinals will be played on Wednesday next week in Rauma. The total goals will decide the winner of the pair of matches, who advances to the top eight, i.e. the quarterfinals.
