The exact date of the maneuvers has not yet been set. “Determine, inform us so that we are not reproached that we have pulled some troops from the bay, we are almost going to fight,” Lukashenka instructed the head of the country’s Ministry of Defense Viktor Khrenin.

“Today we see that we need to conduct solid exercises in this western and southern region, the “Belarusian balcony,” Lukashenka said. According to him, he agreed on the need for such maneuvers with Russian President Vladimir Putin in December (negotiations between the heads of state took place at the end of the month in the Konstantinovsky Palace in St. Petersburg).

Lukashenka addedthat the exercises “should not be purely Belarusian.” It is planned that the military will work out on them “a certain plan in the confrontation with these forces: the West (the Baltic states and Poland) and the south (Ukraine).”
