The Italian fashion retailer LuisaViaRoma announced on Friday the takeover of the e-commerce specialist Holding IT. Both companies will now merge to form the LuisaViaRoma Group, according to a statement.

The previous owner and managing director of Holding IT is Tommaso Maria Andorlini, who was also appointed CEO of LuisaViaRoma in the summer. The group of companies includes the e-commerce service provider FFW Srl and the retailer Playground Srl, which operates, among other things, the sportswear provider SOFT.

The merger that has now been announced is the result of a “natural evolution” that began with Andorlini’s appointment, said LuisaViaRoma. The aim is to “combine LuisaViaRoma’s expertise in luxury e-commerce with FFW’s advanced digital offerings and Playground’s retail experience.”

According to LuisaViaRoma, the companies in the newly formed group achieved a total gross merchandise volume (GMV) of around 400 million euros last year. An increase to 450 million euros is expected for 2024.
