Luis Suárez attacked Fifa

Suárez did not digest the referee’s decisions.

Uruguay experienced a huge disappointment on Friday. The country was left out of the World Cup play-offs when South Korea went through on goal difference.

Uruguay beat Ghana 2-0 but would have needed one more goal to overtake second-placed South Korea.

Star striker Luis Suárez did not digest the defeat and attacked the International Football Association in front of the media. Uruguay claimed the ball for a spot, when in the second period both Darwin Núñez and Edinson Cavani went wrong in the penalty area.

The VAR room asked the referee Daniel Siebert to see Núñez’s situation on video. Siebert did not give Uruguay a penalty kick.

– Fifa and the referees must give an explanation about the spot situations, Suárez said.

After the final whistle, emotions heated up, and the Uruguayans shouted in front of Siebert’s nose.

Suárez would have also wanted to meet his family immediately after the match, but the officials prevented it.

– I asked my children to come closer to the changing benches. The Fifa person told me that it won’t work. Earlier I saw how the French player was allowed to be with his children on the bench. It seems that Uruguay is not that significant and Fifa is always against us.

Suárez watched the last minutes of the match from the bench. “El Pistolero” wiped tears from his cheeks when the end of the games was confirmed.
