A unit of the National Liberation Army is believed to be behind the disappearance of Luis Diaz’s parents. The Colombian government is moving towards peace negotiations with the guerrilla group.

The head of the government delegation Otty Patino, as well as the chief peace negotiator with the ELN, through a statement, formally requested the release of Mr. Diaz.
