The social leader Luis D´Elia served his sentence 3 years and 9 months in prison, and it is now officially free. “From 0 o’clock I AM AGAIN A FREE GUY I served 3 years and 9 months in prison to which I have been sentenced by the Macrista Justice of Lawfare plan. I am immensely proud to have led the PEACEFUL PROTEST against the murder of our comrade Martin Cisneros”, said the tweet that the leader published on his account to celebrate his freedom.

D’Elia had been arrested as a result of what happened in 2004, when he led the seizure of the police station 24 in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of La Boca in June 2004. The reason for the takeover, which D’Elia described at all times as “peaceful”, was the claim for the clarification of the murder of Martin ‘Oso’ Cisnerosa referent of the group headed by D’Elia.
On that occasion, the leader appeared at the police station with hundreds of protesters to demand the arrest of a suspect in the murder of Cisneros. After he passed through the police station, several valuables disappeared, including a painting by the painter Benito Quinquela Martinaccording to complaints contained in the case.
The charges under which D’Elia was sentenced were “aggravated assault on authorityminor injuries committed to the detriment of a member of the then Argentine Federal Police, incitement to commit crimes, illegal deprivation of liberty and usurpation”.
Although D’Elia had been arrested on February 25, 2019, when the sentence was considered final, on April 4, 2020, he was granted house arrest under control of electronic ankletand later, on August 24, 2021, he was paroled.
“I am a free man again. Fundamentally I was imprisoned for being a Kirchneristfor being a friend and Nestor Kirchner’s goalkeeper. For having been in the front line of the battle of heroic and foundational Kirchnerism, even though some capitoste berretas don’t like it that we have now,” D’Elia declared in his editorial in Rebel Radio.
