Luigi Datome, the captain of the Italian National Team, who also played for Fenerbahçe for a while, retired.

Datome, who was taken off the game in the last stages of the match in which Slovenia won 89-85 and finished the organization in 7th place, ended his career with applause from the fans and the basketball players on the field.
The 35-year-old player, who previously announced that he would retire after the FIBA World Cup, also played for Fenerbahçe between the 2015-20 seasons.
Datome, who won the THY Europa League championship with Fenerbahçe in 2017, also played for the American Basketball League (NBA) teams Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics. The Italian player won the Turkish League, the Turkish Cup, the Italian League three times and the Italian Cup twice.
