With her mix of country, folk, blues and rock, Lucinda Williams has created one of the most interesting Americana mixes on the market. Now the singer is already 70 years old and fortunately for all of us she still gives powerful gigs.
After several strokes of fate, this is not a matter of course: three years ago, a tornado destroyed part of her new house and a stroke destroyed part of her mobility. Williams could no longer play the guitar and had to struggle to learn to walk again.
Even if the musician finds that the circle is slowly closing, she remains productive. Her album “Good Souls Better Angels” was released in 2020 and once again celebrated the blues that inspired her as a young artist in the 70s. With “Stories From A Rock’n’Roll Heart”, her 14th studio album, Williams returns to her relaxed rock sound at the end of June 2023, with which she not only won many fans, but was also able to convince many colleagues . So it’s no coincidence that the record features a guest performance by Bruce Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa (“New York Comeback”). Indie darling Angel Olsen is also there.
The great songwriter is now going on tour in Germany again in March 2024 to present her new material. There are gigs in Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne and Munich. On March 12, the singer will also play in Vienna. The performances will be presented by ROLLING STONE. Tickets are available in advance at Eventim.
