Although the entire podium consisted of Dutchmen, the race was opened with an attack by the Canadian Maghalie Rochette who chose the first attack, but Brand and Alvarado quickly drove away together.
Alvarado – who struggled with her form before the winter – turned it into a nice duel with the world champion, but eventually had to recognize her superior in Brand. Betsema, who had a poor start, finished in third place. The fourth and fifth place also went to Dutch riders; Annemarie Worst and Fem van Empel.
Brand (32) also won the Azencross on Thursday, a competition that is also part of the X2O Bathrooms Trophy.
The last two editions of the GP Sven Nys were won by Alvarado (23). Brand came second in 2021 and 2020.
