Luciana Rubinska: “There is less prejudice against women in football”

Pioneer among women who decided to dedicate themselves to sports journalism, Luciana Rubinska She managed to make her way and be recognized among her peers. She is the mother of twins and decided to spend time alone with each of them to forge and nurture her individuality.

News: What memories do you have of your childhood?
Luciana Rubinska:
I had a very nice childhood at the Club Náutico Buchardo. I practiced rhythmic gymnastics for many years and trained with the dream of being in the National Team. I gave it my all, although it was not enough, but I trained in sports and in competition. As a teenager I had to wear a corset due to scoliosis and forced to redirect my dreams as a girl.

News: How did the love for the sport arise and develop?
Rubinska:
Since I was little I remember my dad with the radio in his ear listening to the broadcasts. And when he was older, for the love of the National Team and Atlanta, he was going to see him everywhere.

News: What was it like breaking through in a predominantly male environment?
Rubinska: It was easy because I didn’t think about it. He had a lot of enthusiasm and excess energy and passion. I lived with the painful phrase of “because you are a woman, you know enough…”. My litter fought strongly against prejudice and machismo.

News: What do you think of the role of women in football?
Rubinska:
I am very happy to see that there are more and more spaces for women in the media and that my children grow up listening to women in the programs and in the broadcasts.

News: Are women who want to make a career as sports journalists or footballers still underestimated?
Rubinska: Less and less. There’s still a long way to go
but the new generations brought more egalitarian looks.

News: How do you see Argentina for the World Cup?
Rubinska: Argentina is a candidate to be the protagonist in the World Cup
. He gained solidity in the Copa América. The group is united and we have the best. Hopefully it will be a glorious closure for Messi with the National Team.

News: Which teams would you like to play for the Cup?
Rubinska:
I always want the South American teams to do well.

News: Who was Diego Armando Maradona for you?
Rubinska
: God. I met Maradona in a TyC program and I was struck by the magnetism he had. Years later I was lucky enough to be able to interview him. It was because of the generosity of Víctor Hugo Morales at C5N. I’ll never forget.

News: What do you enjoy most about your job?
Rubinska:
I enjoy doing journalism and television. It is my home. I like to know that something of what I do accompanies those who are watching. I like to feel close to people. My work is exciting. I am a fan of my work.

News: You have two Martín Fierro to your credit, what meaning do you give to the awards?
Rubinska:
“No one is bitter about a sweet Max,” says Indio Solari. I enjoyed every nomination and every award. I like it, it excites me and I love going to the Martín Fierro. I was able to share one of those prizes with my children, who although they did not have much notion of what it was about, they said: “Mom won the Cup”.

News: How do you live with the demands of the environment?
Rubinska:
I live barbarian. I was born here and the demands do not weigh me down. I would even tell you that I enjoy them, they bring out the best in me.

News: Is it self-demanding?
Rubinska: What it takes to focus on getting better and never forget who’s on the other side
. Luckily I have had many more joys than frustrations. And the bad ones, I pass them quickly and try again.

News: What are your biggest dreams?
Rubinska:
As my friend Julián Capasso would say, I have fulfilled dreams that I have never had. The profession gave me so much more than I ever dreamed of. I want my children to find passions like the ones I have.

News: If you had to define yourself, what words would you use?
Rubinska:
I am brave, empowered, sensitive, funny and tremendously constant in what I undertake.

News: What are you afraid of?
Rubinska – I fear death.
and I can’t get over it despite my years of therapy.

News: What are the greatest pleasures in life?
Rubinska:
Work what I like, drink wine, eat delicious food, get together with friends, play soccer with my children, watch games with them and be able to take them to their games.

News: How do you carry on raising your children?
Rubinska:
I love being a mom. And I am grateful that I have two phenomena that make my life more beautiful and much easier. All the time I pass on the values ​​that are important to me. Respect for the other and the search for passions.

Rubinska:
