Lower sentence for stock of drugs and prohibited weapon in the Zwartemeer home

A 40-year-old man from Zwartemeer has been sentenced to 100 hours of community service for drug and illegal possession of weapons. The man was also given a three-month suspended prison sentence.

The penalty is lower than the requirement: a community service order of 200 hours and a suspended prison sentence of six months. This is partly due to the passage of time. The case is almost four years old.

During a search of the house in September 2018, the police found a large stock of drugs and a gas pistol with ammunition. The agents had been tipped off. They came across all kinds of jars, preserving bottles, drinking bottles and jerry cans, filled with ecstasy pills, GBL (a raw material for GHB) and speed. The man made the GHB himself, because he was addicted to it. The stock was large, you could think the man was dealing in drugs. But he was not blamed for that.

The man has not been in contact with the law since the discovery. He previously told the judge that he was self-reliant. “That’s great. GHB addiction is a persistent addiction,” the judge replied. He nevertheless imposed a drug ban on the Zwartemeerder. The man must also be checked. He should also be treated if deemed necessary.
