Lowa: Werner Riethmann leaves management

Werner Riethmann is leaving Lowa Sportschuh GmbH after more than 30 years in management.

Riethmann ended his work at the Upper Bavarian mountain boot specialist at the end of December, Lowa announced on Friday. He will remain with the company as a shareholder with a 20 percent share and in an advisory capacity.

“When Tecnica took over the majority of Lowa in 1993, it was an absolute stroke of luck to have Werner Riethmann, an entrepreneur and managing director at the head of the company, with whom we shared the same understanding of the brand,” said Giancarlo Zanatta, founder of Lowa -Majority owner Tecnica Group. “Lowa stands for the highest quality, innovation and the pursuit of the best outdoor experience. With these premises, he has developed the brand and the company with competence and passion over the past 30 years.”

Alexander Nicolai becomes sole managing director

With Riethmann’s departure, Alexander Nicolai becomes the sole managing director. He has been part of the company’s top management since the beginning of 2019. The extended management also includes the commercial manager Rudolf Limmer and the international sales manager Matthias Wanner.
