Taeko is married to Jirothe couple lives peacefully together with Keita, the son she had from a previous marriage. A tragedy brings back into her life the ex-husband who had abandoned her and the baby, choosing to get lost, out of society and out of ties. One nucleus falls apart, another recreates itself?
For the author of A Girl Missing (seen in Locarno in 2018) family geographies are fluctuating and almost always betray expectations, but to compose and break down relationships he makes an extreme gesture and proves that there is no couple who can withstand pain. He tells us: pain produces loneliness even when love survives.
