una sparkling comedy with the beautiful Miriam Leone? On Rai2 it airs tonight at 21.25 Love at home. A very enjoyable story signed by Emiliano Corapi (which in 2012 he directed On the way home) and a well-matched cast of actors. In addition to Miriam Leone, Simone Liberati, as the male protagonist, Anna Ferruzza, Francesco Rongione, Renato Marchetti.
Love at home: the plot
Renato (Liberati) is a seller of insurance policies who casually comes across, and inevitably falls in love, with Anna, a young woman who lives under house arrest for armed robbery. After a first encounter of passion, and a moment of indecision, the man, who has always been reluctant to fully experience relationships and life in general, he finds very involved in the relationship with this recluse woman.
She cannot move from home: an impediment which, however, gives Renato a certain certainty, who is always afraid of losing something “so beautiful that sooner or later it will abandon you”. Slowly he falls in love with her and will do anything to help her, to the point of carrying out a robbery with her ex-boyfriend, who has recently escaped from prison.
The relationship, like all of Anna’s existence, is consumed mainly within the four walls (a bit like during the pandemic, the period in which the film should have been released in theaters). The young woman lives her own life, with ups and downs, even when she is forced into partial isolation. Renato sees in this isolation a way to be able to control a person to whom he slowly becomes more and more attached. We do not reveal what will happen, but we guarantee the enjoyment of the comedy.
Good actors for a romantic and funny film
The film, set and shot in Rome, in the San Giovanni district, was destined to be released in cinemas in spring 2020. However, the pandemic blocked everything and Love at home was released in streaming on the Prime video platform. It is a very pleasant comedy, at times romantic at times touching: the couple Miriam Leone and Simone Liberati is fun and could give other new satisfactions.
«Thanks to the pandemic, I explored the boredom that Anna felt, forced to stay at home. She has a need for freedom more than for love. At home, she learns to appreciate literature », explained Miriam Leone, who in the film speaks of her “his of her” of her from Catania of her. “I really enjoyed speaking my language. For me playing Anna was exploring my roots, going back in time.
A good chemistry took place between Miriam Leone and Simone Liberati. “We worked very well together: Miriam is a very generous actress,” said the actor. “Clearly, the relationship between Anna and Renato had to be calibrated: he is an insecure person who needed to win Anna’s heart, a wilder woman”.
The director Emiliano Corapi does a good job, also thanks to a screenplay that works, which does not fall into banality, as is often the case with Italian films. In the film there is a lot of talk about the family, the legacy that very cumbersome or absent parents leave us and the path everyone has to take to put everything back in order.
The merit of the film is also a well-matched cast; in addition to Leone and Liberati, the supporting actors are also very good: Anna Ferruzzaaged, takes on the role of Anna’s mother, and Francesco Rongione who plays the young woman’s ex.
