Today in the Meursinge conference center in Westerbork, the Drenthe members of the VVD spoke about the fact that Drenthe is so poorly represented on the national list of candidates for the House of Representatives elections. For example, entrepreneur Ewout Klok was nominated and yet not placed on the list, to the dismay of the Drenthe members.
“They are not happy. I have that feeling too. We would have preferred to see it differently. But we also have to be realistic. This is the decision and now we have to move on. We also have two very good candidates on the list and they We are now going to fully support it,” said René Laan, chairman of the VVD Drenthe after the meeting.
Ewout Klok received many expressions of support. “I received a lot of applause for my story. What hurts me is that I don’t get an explanation. I understand that there is a process going on. That they think I am too critical or have too much of a waffle; you can make up anything, but say it then. And that’s where things go wrong here.”
