Lothar Matthäus again sharply criticized the bosses

Lothar Matthäus repeatedly advocates for sporting competence in the management team at FC Bayern. Now he has criticized again.

Record national player Lothar Matthäus has renewed his criticism of the management team at FC Bayern Munich. “They are pure football fans,” said Matthäus in an interview with the “Augsburger Allgemeine” and explained: “On the board, Jan-Christian Dreesen, Michael Diederich, Andreas Jung come from the financial sector, President Herbert Hainer from business. If one of these ranks stands up and gives a speech: Do you think it will reach the players? Who will stand up then?”

In the past, things looked different for the German record champions. “I know what it was like when Franz Beckenbauer stormed off from the traditional Uwe Seeler team after a defeat!” Matthäus said: “You stood at attention even as a national player. And that’s what I mean: That’s the power of FC Bayern Munich!” From his point of view, there is a need for “people who don’t just look at balance sheets, but who also know their way around sports.”

In a column for the TV channel Sky, Matthäus recently wrote: “They are right there, but next to them I lack the sporting competence. Which of them won championships as players? There is no one there who brings the smell of the stable with them.”
