Everything for Depeche Mode: The English band will be celebrated in the US metropolis on December 13th.
The city of Los Angeles is recognizing English synth-rock band Depeche Mode on December 13th as part of a new holiday – Depeche Mode Day. On this day, Dave Gahan and Martin Gore will be honored with a special event at Los Angeles City Hall. In addition to them, the keyboardist and founding member Andy Fletcher, who died in 2022, will also be remembered.

The day in honor of Depeche Mode was initiated by city councilor Monica Rodriguez. In an interview with the “Los Angeles MagazineThe politician said: “I am very happy to announce this special day to honor the musical genius of Depeche Mode. They remain an ever-evolving and uniquely influential musical force, and it is fitting for Los Angeles to celebrate this band.”
Depeche Mode have enjoyed great popularity in the West Coast metropolis and throughout the USA since the 80s. Not least because of the alternative rock station “KROQ”, which early on supported bands like The Cure, New Order and Depeche Mode with extensive airplay.
What exactly the “Depeche Mode Day” celebrations will look like is currently unknown.
Memento Mori Tour
During the current “Memento Mori Tour,” the group will also stop by Los Angeles several times between December 10th and 17th. A total of four concerts are scheduled for the area. However, there will be no show in Los Angeles on “Depeche Mode Day” itself.
Depeche Mode will also be coming to Germany with their tour in 2024. Eight gigs in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Munich are scheduled so far. Here you can see an overview of all the dates:
